Even if a plentiful feast is expected in the evening, breakfast, lunch and light snacks must be present in the diet, otherwise the risk of eating too much at dinner will only increase, experts at the Astrakhan Region Public Health Center believe.

In addition, to avoid overeating, you should give preference to low-fat foods, fish and seafood. Doctors also recommend preparing light snacks on the table, consisting of vegetables, herbs and fruits. As a dressing, you can choose natural yogurt, lemon juice or pomegranate.

It is proposed to cook for exactly the number of persons who will gather at the table, without a reserve. Otherwise, mountains of salads will only spur the desire to put more and more on the plate. Storing salads like Olivier or herring under a fur coat - with mayonnaise, eggs and canned vegetables - won't work for a long time. In the refrigerator, such seasoned dishes can be kept for no longer than six hours.

Experts also advise to refrain from drinking soda, as it provokes the desire to eat, even if you are no longer hungry.
