He also said that there are serious concerns about the further spread of radical religious ideology in Central Asia. According to the diplomat, this stems from the destabilization in the Middle East and Afghanistan caused by the military intervention of the West under the pretext of protecting human rights and democracy.

"As for the role of Washington, we hope that no one will question Kazakhstan's right to apply Article 4 of the ODB Charter," the ambassador said, noting that it was used to ensure law and order in the union republic.

Earlier, subdivisions of the CSTO collective peacekeeping forces began to fulfill their tasks in Kazakhstan. As noted in the Russian Ministry of Defense, peacekeepers perform tasks to protect vital facilities, airfields, key social infrastructure facilities. At the same time, they are not involved in the ongoing operational and combat activities of local law enforcement agencies and army units to establish law and order in the country.
