Russia (bbabo.net), - From July 1 of this year, the period for issuing a passport will be reduced to five days. This is reported by TASS, referring to the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

The ministry clarified that this period does not depend on the place of residence, stay, actual residence or the circumstances of the replacement of the document. It is noted that this rule will also apply to passports with electronic media.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that when issuing an electronic passport, the old paper passport will be canceled. A citizen cannot have two valid Russian passports at the same time. At the same time, the registration of an electronic passport of a Russian citizen and a foreign passport is not interconnected - these two documents will still have different legal force.
