The Ambassador of Kazakhstan said that there is no obvious external interference in the country's affairs

At the diplomatic level, there is no evidence of obvious external interference in the affairs of Kazakhstan. This was stated by the country's ambassador to Russia Ermek Kosherbayev on the air of the Youtube program "Soloviev Live".

“At the diplomatic level, I cannot say that there is an obvious interference, as such it is not. If there is, then at the ideological level, or maybe someone is trying through all kinds of centers, ”the diplomat said, adding that at the official level“ nothing of the kind is happening ”.

In the blogosphere, he noted, it is "very difficult" to regulate such interference. At the same time, he added, on some resources there were memos for the capture.

“Naturally, these are unofficial resources. By the way, I saw these resources last summer, when [protests] were taking place in Belarus. But I never thought that the issue would affect our country as well, ”he explained.

On January 2, mass protests began in Kazakhstan. This happened after the government decided to raise gas prices from 60 to 120 tenge. The protests quickly escalated into riots and clashes with the police. On January 4, the government commission announced its decision to reduce the gas price to 50 tenge. On the night of January 5, Kazakh President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev announced the introduction of 180-day state regulation of prices for fuel and food in the country.

Later, he also turned to the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), including Russia, for help in overcoming the "terrorist threat".

Igor Panarin, a consultant for the Political Cooperation Department of the CSTO Secretariat, did not rule out that the number of the organization's peacekeepers in Kazakhstan could be increased if necessary.
