The Electoral Commission of the Netherlands announced that a consultative referendum on the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine will be held next spring.

This was reported on the website of the Electoral Council of the Netherlands.

"427,939 valid declarations were collected in support of the referendum on association with Ukraine. Electoral Council announced that it will be held in six months," – was said in a statement.

The electoral council promises to announce the specific date for the referendum very soon.

As noted, it can not be held at the same day as the elections.

"In the case of more than 30% turnout in the consultative referendum, the government should review the association agreement", - said the electoral council.

At the same time there is noted that the referendum is not binding, and its results can not force the government to withdraw the agreement.
