Kazakhstan to supply 5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to Egypt

Kazakhstan intends to supply 5 million doses of QazVac coronavirus vaccine to Egypt as soon as it receives permission from the Egyptian authorities, Arab News reported. The decision was made at a meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Kairat Lama Sharif, with the Minister of Higher Education and Science, as well as the current Minister of Health of Egypt, Khalid Abdel Ghaffar.

In addition, the parties discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare. In particular, they talked about joint projects for the production of vaccines against COVID-19 between the Egyptian pharmaceutical company Vacsera and the Medical Research Center of Kazakhstan. The minister announced that the registration and approval procedure for the QazVac vaccine will soon begin in Egypt, during which it will undergo all the necessary studies and tests to confirm its effectiveness and safety.

The officials also discussed the possibility of mutual recognition of vaccination certificates between countries.
