8960 CUDA cores, 12GB GDDR6X memory and 350W TDP

Nvidia revealed its GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card with 12GB of memory during CES 2022, and today the company has re-introduced the new product. Actually, sales have started from today, although the official price has not yet been announced. Software support for the novelty is implemented in the latest version of the proprietary GeForce driver, number 511.17.

The new version of GeForce RTX 3080 differs from the old one not only by 2 GB in increased memory capacity. In terms of its characteristics, the new product is closer to the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti - it has the same 384-bit memory bus (with a bandwidth of 912 GB / s) and the same TDP of 350 W. For comparison, the TDP of a regular GeForce RTX 3080 with 10 GB of memory is 320 W. Also, the GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB of memory received 8960 CUDA cores, 280 tensor cores and 70 Ray Tracing cores. The base frequency of the graphics processor GA102-220 is 1440 MHz, the maximum is 1710 MHz. As it turned out, the GeForce RTX 3080 with 12 GB of memory turned out to be 300-400 euros more expensive than the version with 10 GB of memory.
