Bailiffs set on Telegram in Russia

Against the administration of the popular Telegram messenger, the bailiffs opened three cases at once on the enforced collection of fines. This is evidenced by the information in the database of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP).

We are talking about fines in the amount of 5 million, 2 million and 4 million rubles of fines based on the decisions of the Tagansky Court of Moscow of December 20, 2021. Then the companies imposed these fines for refusing to remove content prohibited by Russian legislation.

As the Interfax news agency notes, in mid-December 2021, the Telegram administration fully paid off the debt on fines, which at that time amounted to 15 million rubles.

Note that in Russia, such giants as Telegram, Google, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp have already been fined many times for not removing prohibited content. At the very end of December, the first turnover fine was imposed in Russia for not removing prohibited content - Google will have to pay more than 7.2 billion rubles.

In addition to Telegram, the FSSP is now also conducting cases on the collection of fines from Twitter - in the amount of 34.7 million rubles.
