Leica has unveiled the M11 full-frame rangefinder camera, which was first photographed back in October last year. Retaining the traditional form factor of other M-series models, the camera incorporates many innovations.

The highlight of the M11 is its 60-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, which uses what Leica calls "triple resolution" technology. This technology allows you to shoot in RAW or JPG format at 60, 36 or 18 megapixels using the entire sensor area.

The sensor in the M11 is coated with a new extremely thin IR+UV filter that provides even more effective correction of oblique light rays. In addition, a new array of color filters promises to deliver improved, more natural color. The camera has a base value of ISO 64 and a light sensitivity range of up to ISO 50,000. According to Leica, the dynamic range is up to 15 EV.

Exposures in the ranges of 1/4000-60 seconds and 1-60 minutes are measured by a mechanical shutter. The electronic shutter allows you to measure values ​​in the range of 1/16000-60 s. The burst shooting speed reaches 4.5 fps. When shooting at a resolution of 60 MP, the burst length reaches 15 frames, at a resolution of 36 MP - 30 fps, and when shooting at a resolution of 18 MP, the burst length is limited only by the space on the memory card and the battery charge. The camera is equipped with a touch screen with a resolution of 2.3 million dots.

A notable design difference from previous M-series cameras is the elimination of the traditional one-piece cover on the bottom of the body in favor of the more familiar combination of battery and SD card slot covers on other cameras. In addition to a memory card, the camera has 64 GB of internal memory.

The camera is powered by a 1800 mAh battery. The camera is equipped with a USB-C port that can be used to charge the battery. For iPhone users, a USB-C to Apple Lightning cable is included.

The manufacturer offers a 640g silver chrome version with a brass top and a 530g black version with an aluminum top. Camera dimensions are 139 x 80 x 38.5 mm.

In addition to the camera, Leica has announced two accessories: the Visoflex 2 electronic viewfinder with a 3.7 million dot display that can be tilted 90°, and a new handle that can be used as a tripod mount by attaching directly to the Arca- Swiss.
