In the United States began an investigation against Oculus as part of the study of the work of Meta

Several U.S. states immediately launched an investigation, the purpose of which will be to identify potential violations in the management of Meta by its virtual reality company Oculus.

The investigation involves the states of New York, North Carolina and Tennessee. A group of nearly 50 states also asked an appeals court on January 14 to reinstate an antitrust lawsuit filed in December 2020 against Facebook. Sources said the US Federal Trade Commission was also involved in the antitrust investigation.

The investigation into the Oculus business is part of a larger investigation into Meta's activities. The Attorneys General of New York, North Carolina and Tennessee have not yet commented on the situation.

In the fall of 2021, it became known that Facebook is developing a virtual reality headset that will become part of the company's metaverse. The VR helmet, codenamed Project Cambria, is due out in 2022. Meta is also working on a haptic glove that mimics the feeling of gripping an object or surface in virtual reality. In autumn, she demonstrated the prototype of this glove for the first time. Soon after, Meta was accused by HaptX of copying its patented device design.

For the past few months, Meta has been at the center of a scandal involving the release of internal company documents. US government agencies are suing the corporation, and investors and companies are suing it for fraud with reports and other violations of the law. In December, it was reported that Meta's image had deteriorated so much that the company was forced to spend more money to recruit new employees and retain old ones.
