The New York Times published anti-advertising Tesla autopilot

The New York Times published an ad from The Dawn Project, which calls not to be crash test dummies for cars with full autopilot (“Full Self-Driving”) from Tesla. The Dawn Project called "Full Self-Driving" the worst software ever sold by a Fortune 500 company. The company is offering $10,000 to anyone who could name another commercial product from a Fortune 500 company that has every 8 minutes, a critical failure occurs.

The Dawn Project bills itself as a project to ban insecure software from mission-critical systems. Their website says:

“The Dawn Project is campaigning to ban insecure software from critical systems that can be targeted by hackers to wreak havoc on our society, starting with the following key industries:

•Transport

•Healthcare

•Communications

•Electricity of the net

•Water treatment facilities.»

Founded by Dan O'Dowd, the site says Dan created secure operating systems for projects including Boeing 787 aircraft, Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter jets, the Boeing B1-B intercontinental nuclear bomber, and NASA's Orion research ship.

Dan O'Dowd is also the founder and CEO of Green Hills Software, a company that specializes in security solutions and RTOS (real-time operating system) or real-time operating systems for various industries, both civilian and military.

And recently, The Dawn Project, together with BMW, presented an electric car solution with their software, including the ADAS intelligent driver assistance system. And it is likely that this is a competitive struggle.

At the same time, there are complaints from drivers about Tesla software, and there are quite a few of them. Elon Musk responded to these complaints that Tesla's Full Self-Driving has not resulted in accidents or injuries since its launch. And Musk responded to a statement from Dawn on Twitter in his usual manner.
