Good old super overclocking of cheap Intel processors

As we already know, some motherboards allow you to overclock Intel Alder Lake processors without an unlocked multiplier. We have already seen what the overclocked Core i5-12400 is capable of, and now there are similar results for the more affordable Core i3-12100 and Celeron G6900.

For example, Core i3-12100 with a native frequency of 4.4 GHz scores 3200 points in Cinebench R20, and with overclocking to 5.4 GHz, the result rises to 4283 points! This is more than the six-core Ryzen 5 5600X. In Y-Cruncher, the new Intel at 5.3 GHz showed a result of 37 seconds versus 52 seconds for the extremely overclocked Ryzen 3 5300G. True, in both cases, the Intel CPU was overclocked using liquid cooling and a significant increase in voltage.

The very budget Celeron G6900 with its native frequency of 3.4 GHz was able to overclock to 5.3 GHz, thanks to which the CPU showed a result of almost 1500 Cinebench R20 points. This, for example, is more than the quad-core Ryzen 5 2400G.

So far, such overclocking can only be called experimental, since a 600-dollar motherboard was used, and in reality, no one will buy such a budget CPU for the sake of overclocking the latter. But the author says that some models based on the B660 chipset should also support such an overclocking function, which makes the question more interesting.
