Tesla introduced a karaoke microphone for its electric vehicles

Tesla has released a TeslaMic karaoke microphone that car owners can use in electric cars. The device is currently only available for the Chinese market.

The two-mic kits have gone on sale along with a software update that celebrates the Chinese New Year. Leishi KTV karaoke app is required to use the device.

Edition Verge notes that all TeslaMic sold out within an hour from the start of sales. The cost of the microphone slightly exceeded $188. One of the Twitter users reports the opportunity to purchase a device with hands for $500.

The next delivery of TeslaMic is expected this month. However, there is no information yet when sales of the device will begin in the rest of the world.

Tesla launched a karaoke option for its electric vehicles in 2019 as part of the V10 software release. The option provides for a limited number of songs whose lyrics are shown on the car screen, but the new karaoke iteration uses the Leishi KTV interface and track catalog.

TeslaMic automatically connects to the electric vehicle system. Users can choose from several modes. The microphones can also be used outside of Tesla vehicles.

In January, the company applied for a trademark to sell its own sound equipment. This category includes headphones, microphones, speakers, digital players, megaphones, audio interfaces and other equipment.

Late last year, Tesla agreed to ban games from running on the on-board computer screen while the electric car is in motion. The company promised to block the Passenger Play option if the car is not in parking mode in the next software update. Earlier in the month, a Model 3 owner presented proof that he was able to run solitaire on the electric car's system while driving.
