Xsolla's CEO steps down

Alexander Agapitov, also known as Shurick Agapitov, is stepping down as CEO of Xsolla, according to Venturebeat. Instead, he was appointed technical director Konstantin Golubitsky. But Agapitov still remains the chairman of the board of directors.

A serious scandal is connected with Alexander Agapitov and the Xsolla company, when about 150 people were fired based on the analysis of activity in work messengers, project management systems and just activity in the company's network.

To criticism from the public and dismissed workers, Agapitov himself said that these employees are “uninvolved and unproductive” and the company does not need them. Moreover, even offline workers were included in the list of “inefficient”: movers and baristas. The scandal lasted for several months, but faded away by the end of 2021.

Xsolla is a company founded by Alexander Agapitov in 2005 in Perm under the name 2Pay. In 2010 it was renamed to Xsolla.

As the founder of the company said about the new director:

“I have worked closely with Konstantin over the past decade to build Xsolla and I am confident that he will provide the leadership the company needs at this stage of growth. And with Konstantin at the helm, I can focus on future innovation for Xsolla and the gaming industry.”

In addition to the duties of the chairman of the board of directors, Agapitov will be involved in other projects of the holding, in particular, the direction of Web 3.0.

According to Konstantin Golubitsky:

“We have several large projects underway, but first we need to get comfortable in the new structure. Xsolla owner and founder, Shurik Agapitov, will continue to advise me during the transition and lead work on upcoming Web 3.0 features. More will be announced soon.”
