Delkin Devices Introduces CFexpress Type A Memory Cards

CFexpress Type A cards are used in cameras such as Sony a1, a7S III, FX3, FX6 and a7 IV

Delkin Devices has entered a close circle of manufacturers producing CFexpress Type A memory cards. In addition to it, removable media of this format are produced by Sony and ProGrade.

CFexpress Type A memory cards are smaller than CFexpress Type B cards, but are also based on PCI Express technology, making them superior in performance to even the fastest SD memory cards. CFexpress Type A cards are used in many cameras such as Sony a1, a7S III, FX3, FX6 and a7 IV.

The Delkin BLACK CFexpress Type A memory card claims up to 790MB/s write speed, which is enough to record 8K video at 30fps and 400Mbps bit rate. In this parameter, they compete with Sony and ProGrade cards. Delkin's BLACK CFexpress Type A series cards deliver read speeds up to 880MB/s for fast transfer of footage and the ability to reuse the card.

The description of the cards says that they are shockproof, protected from magnetic fields, ultraviolet and X-rays, static electricity and remain operational in a wide temperature range. Delkin backs them up with a "48 hour replacement warranty". This means that the company promises to replace a failed card with a workable one within two days from the moment of contact (excluding weekends) - even before it receives a faulty card from the consumer. At the same time, Delkin CFexpress Type A POWER series memory cards are introduced, which are not covered by the 48-hour replacement warranty.

Delkin BLACK and Delkin POWER CFexpress Type A cards will be available in 80GB and 160GB. Pricing and sales dates are yet to be announced, but it is known that in April the company promises to release a memory card device compatible with CFexpress Type A and SD cards.

As a benchmark, the source says the 160GB ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type A Cobalt Memory Card is $310 with a $55 discount, while the 160GB Sony CFexpress Type A TOUGH Card is $398.
