Intel will make cheap laptops much more powerful

Intel Alder Lake processors continue to conquer the market, but so far this is limited to desktop CPUs. Today, new data about mobile solutions of this generation appeared on the Web.

We are talking about the Alder Lake-N line. These are the youngest and most energy-efficient CPUs of the family, which will belong to the “atomic” line and will replace the current Jasper Lake CPUs. That is, it will be the new Pentium N and Celeron N.

Of course, such processors are not supposed to have large cores, so they will only have small ones. But the bottom line is that there can be a maximum of eight such small cores, while all existing and previous "atomic" Intel processors had a maximum of four cores.

True, as we know, small Gracemont cores do not support Hyper-Threading, so there will also be a maximum of eight threads. But in any case, the performance gain should be impressive, both due to the increase in the number of cores, and thanks to the new architecture.

In addition, the iGPU in Alder Lake-N should also be much more powerful than the previous solution. Gaming corresponding laptops, of course, will not, but the increase will not be superfluous. The source says that the GPU in such processors will have 32 active computing units, as in desktop CPUs.

The new CPUs will find application in a variety of mini PCs, affordable laptops and Chromebooks. When such devices will be released is still unknown.
