SpaceX loses satellites due to geomagnetic storm, and OneWeb successfully launches 34 satellites into orbit

OneWeb is a competitor to the Starlink satellite Internet being deployed by Elon Musk's SpaceX. OneWeb has far fewer satellites in orbit, but the company basically needs fewer of them to carry out its activities than a competitor. And just now, OneWeb has reported on the successful launch of 34 aircraft.

This was the first in 2022 and already the 13th launch of OneWeb satellites. It was carried out by operator Arianespace from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana on February 10. The OneWeb satellites successfully separated from the launch vehicle in nine groups in 3 hours and 33 minutes. Signal reception from all 34 satellites was confirmed on February 11 at 05:30 Moscow time.

Thus, at the moment, OneWeb has 428 devices in orbit - this is 66% of the total number of the planned constellation of 648 low-orbit satellites. They should provide high-speed, low-latency, global network connectivity.

Recall that the last launch of Starlink satellites turned out to be a failure: 40 out of 49 devices were disabled as a result of a geomagnetic storm. Apparently, all of them have already burned up in the Earth's atmosphere.
