A small mini PC that can even connect a GeForce RTX 3090

Known for its mini-PC company Minisforum introduced a rather unusual model B550. The unusual thing here lies in the possibilities of amplifying the PC.

By itself, the B550 is an ordinary mini-PC with dimensions of 158 x 166 x 67 mm. It is based on AMD processors. More specifically, there is an option to choose between the Ryzen 5 5600G and the Ryzen 5 5600X. Someone could immediately note that in the second case, a discrete video card is needed, since the CPU does not have its own iGPU. And here lies the main highlight of the novelty.

As you can see in the photos, you can connect a discrete graphics card to a mini-PC in an ATX or SFX format power supply. For these purposes, a special frame is used, on which all this is installed. The video card and power supply are not sold together with the mini-PC, that is, the user is free to connect what he wants or what he has. At the same time, without such additional equipment, a mini-PC, of course, is powered by an ordinary small complete unit.

Minisforum also notes that the mini PC supports Ryzen 5000 processors with TDPs up to 65W. At a minimum, this means that you can install a more powerful CPU into the system yourself. It is also possible that the B550 will also be sold as a Barebone-kit. Price data is not yet available.
