The Government of the Russian Federation will introduce tax incentives for manufacturers and owners of fast charging stations

Decree No. 129 of February 8, 2022 was published on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation, thanks to which fast charging stations are now included in the list of high energy efficiency facilities and technologies. The resolution has already been signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The document specifies electric charging stations operating from direct current with a capacity of 150 kW or more with a charging period of up to 30 minutes. Now producers and owners of the corresponding infrastructure will receive significant tax benefits - an investment tax credit, increasing coefficients to the depreciation rate, exemption from property tax.

As explained on the website of the Government, the changes are taking place within the framework of the Concept for the development of production and use of electric road transport. According to it, by 2030 it is planned to deploy in the Russian Federation a network of 29,000 fast electric charging stations. They should charge the battery to 80% in no more than 20-30 minutes.

As Kommersant reported in May last year, the Ministry of Energy plans to allocate about 418 billion rubles for the implementation of plans to deploy a network of electric charging stations, of which 153.5 billion rubles come from the budget and extrabudgetary funds. The network will be built in the calculation - one station for a dozen electric vehicles in settlements or one for 100 km for federal highways. At the same time, the authorities decided to limit imports by increasing the scrap fee and requiring the mandatory localization of the battery and motor.

The publication refers to the presentation of the Ministry of Economy "Highly automated electric transport in cities", developed by a working group under the ministry. According to it, by 2024 the country will need 20,000 charging stations, the deployment of which will require 37.7 billion rubles. By 2030, the number of stations should grow to 150,000.
