Tesla may disable seat adjustment if you use this feature too often

Tesla is working on a new feature for its electric vehicles, the details of which have been unearthed in the latest firmware by security expert @greentheonly. It is reported that we are talking about disabling the seat adjustment if you use this function too often.

According to @greentheonly, this feature is meant to prevent overuse of the seat controls. The company has recently begun installing new seat motors in some of its Model 3 and Model Y series electric vehicles, which are not manufactured at China's Yangfeng, but in-house. These new engines are made by Brose.

Brose motors have been found to have a "seat abuse" feature. It will warn users if they make too many settings. In addition, the feature may completely disable seat control if the user does not heed these warnings. This means that Tesla will keep track of the number of adjustments the user makes.

90 seconds of use in 5 minutes is the trigger for the warning. 120 seconds of use in 5 minutes turns off the motor for 5 minutes.
