Video cards in Europe are rapidly falling in price

Last summer, against the background of the collapse of the crypto market, video cards fell significantly, but then the price increase resumed. Since mid-January, the opposite trend has been observed: video cards are getting cheaper. Moreover, according to 3DCenter, they have been rapidly falling in price lately: by 20% in 20 days!

All Nvidia and AMD models are still higher than suggested retail prices, but markups are not nearly as high as they used to be. In the case of AMD models, they are now 45% (against 63% in the second half of January), in the case of Nvidia models - 57% versus 77% a few weeks ago.

The graphics card price decline chart coincides with the Ethereum price decline chart, but at the same time, the curve showing the availability of different models goes up: 3D cards are getting cheaper against the backdrop of increasing supply, and this is a very important point. About the same thing was said yesterday in the news about the Chinese market: increased stocks are forcing local video card manufacturers to reduce prices.

If we talk about specific models, then in the case of the "red" the smallest increase falls on the younger Radeon RX 6500 XT - its most affordable versions are offered only 17% more than the recommended price. The markup on other models of the line is approximately 32-33%.

The retail price for the competitor Radeon RX 6500 TX - Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 - differs noticeably from the official one: it is 49% higher. The lowest margin on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is 32%.
