A new study by Confused.com has found that Tesla is the most searched car brand in the world based on the number of searches. Tesla has at least 11,100,000 Google searches per year. This is much more than other popular car brands.
The study also notesla created the first truly mainstream electric vehicles and is the face of the automotive industry today. Alex Kindred, Automotive Industry Expert at Confused, commented on the results of the study: “We all have favorite car brands; be it super cameras, economy or executive models designed in the UK or abroad. Many of the car brands we know and love are synonymous with exporting countries and are a real part of their history and heritage. As our research shows, some of the world's oldest automotive brands have topped the list and are among the world's most successful exports."
Volkswagen is second, followed by Toyota. Fourth place went to BMW, and in fifth place, presumably, is Hyundai (due to translation difficulties, the source indicates the South Korean manufacturer Modern, but Hyundai is the most popular South Korean manufacturer). The manufacturer's subsidiary, Kia, is in 11th place.
