In Russia, they came up with a new way to deal with telephone scammers

Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Pavel Krupnik sent a letter to the Minister of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Maksut Shadayev, in which he proposed creating a special section on the State Services portal for citizens' complaints about telephone scammers. It is reported by RT.

The politician pointed out in his appeal that in recent years a new type of crime related to telephone fraud has spread in Russia. According to him, attackers call people, pretending to be bank employees, employees of "security services", law enforcement officers, and illegally gain access to bank accounts or provoke citizens to transfer their savings to the accounts of criminals.

“In this regard, I ask you to evaluate the idea of introducing a section into the single portal of public services of the Russian Federation “Gosuslugi”, which allows you to promptly report the fact of fraudulent activities, which will simultaneously have the status of an official appeal to law enforcement agencies,” the text of the message says.

As Krupnik noted, such a section "will become a pillar" in the development of measures to counter financial cybercrime for the police and other law enforcement agencies.

Earlier, cybersecurity experts warned that telephone scammers began to call Russians, posing as employees of the Gosuslug portal and offering to "link" their QR codes to the user's page.
