The hit Ryzen 5 5600X drops to $230 in the US, while the Core i7-12700K becomes the best-selling processor on Amazon's US site

Intel Alder Lake processors are gradually making their way into the ratings of the most hit processors in different countries: it must be admitted that Intel's Core 12 turned out to be very successful. One of the most popular Alder Lake CPUs is the Core i7-12700K. Direct proof of this is the first place of this particular model in the top 10 most popular CPUs of the Amazon marketplace in the USA.

The Core i7-12700K proved to be more popular than the Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X. Another representative of the Alder Lake series, the Core i5-12600K, entered the top 10. But seven positions out of ten are still for AMD Ryzen 5000.

In Overclockers UK, the Ryzen 5 5600X ranks first in the top 9, but the Core i7-12700K breathes down its back. In third and fourth places are Ryzen 9 5900X and Core i9-12900K. In general, there are four Alder Lake CPUs and five representatives of Ryzen 5000 in the top 9. Here, Intel newcomers are actively pushing the old, but tinned AMD CPUs.

Finally, the source notes that the American retailer Microcenter has once again reduced the cost of the 6-cell hit Ryzen 5 5600X slightly: it is now offered in the US for $230, although it cost $240 a couple of weeks ago. If you buy the Ryzen 5 5600X with a specific motherboard, you can get a $20 discount. As a result, the processor with a complete cooler will cost $210. The Ryzen 7 5700G octa-core APU has also dropped in price in the US, to $250 (or $230 if purchased bundled with the motherboard).

In general, it is clear that since AMD has nothing to answer for the fundamentally new Alder Lake, the company simply reduces prices. But the average user only benefits from this.
