Megafon closed the deal for the sale of a stake in VK, which is now transferred to the Gazprom-Media holding

According to Interfax, on December 8 Megafon (part of the USM group) closed the deal to sell its stake in VK, which the operator owned through MF Technologies JSC. Management of this asset in full has now been transferred to the Gazprom-Media holding.
Megafon explained to the publication that the operator's right to dispose of an indirect stake in VK ceased on December 7.

The remaining 10% of VK shares belong to the state corporation Rostec, which has no plans to sell them.

Analysts have estimated the amount of the deal between USM and Sogaz to sell a block of voting shares to VK to Gazprom. According to their calculations, the value of assets transferred between the companies amounted to 16 billion rubles.
On December 3, the value of VK financial receipts on the Moscow Exchange fell by more than 7% on the news of the resignation of the social network CEO and information that Gazprombank had transferred control over VK shares to the Gazprom-Media holding.
On December 7, the price of VK securities fell from 1365 rubles on December 2 to 1095 rubles and continues to decline amid misunderstanding of the development of the situation with VK among investors.
