Uber began to show in detail how passengers are evaluated by drivers

Now, in the application of the Uber taxi aggregator, passengers have the opportunity to find out their rating, which is formed as a result of driver ratings. Uber Technologies Inc. gave clients some tips so they could increase their rankings in the future.

Aggregator drivers with a score below four risk being disconnected from the platform. In 2019, Uber announced that it would also deactivate passengers whose ratings fell below average.

You can see how drivers rated a passenger in the menu of the Uber app. To do this, go to the service settings, then to the section “Privacy” “Privacy Center” “Uber usage” “View your data” “View your rating”. The company says the option is available to Uber users worldwide.

With an unsatisfactory rating, Uber recommends:

clean up after yourself and do not forget things;

buckle up, as studies show that an unbuckled passenger puts the driver at risk of injury in an accident;

don't be late;

treat the driver and his car with respect and positively;

do not slam doors (drivers often deduct stars for this).

In 2017, Uber provided drivers with extended commentary on the reasons for low ratings for passengers, among the reasons were: waiting time, number of passengers, route changes, and others.

In 2016, the company published a list of reasons why customers would be banned from the Uber app: damage to a car, assault and insult on a driver, and an offer to have sex. Female taxi drivers report that they are often victims of harassment.

The company made the top 10 US cities with the highest and lowest passenger ratings. San Antonio Texas tops the positive list, followed by St. Louis, Nashville, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Sacramento, Tampa Bay, Charlotte, Las Vegas and Portland. Passengers in New York, Seattle, Washington, Boston, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Baltimore and Chicago have the lowest ratings.
