CD Project RED Releases Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 and Native Game for Current Generation Consoles

This week, the Polish studio CD Project RED held a series of REDstreams streams and talked about the innovations in the Cyberpunk 2077 game. The last broadcast was dedicated to the release of patch version 1.5 and the native version for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.

What's New for Current Generation Consoles:

for PlayStation 5 added support for DualSense gamepad features, including new vibration and adaptive triggers, and through the built-in speaker, phone calls are played, text messages are read out and V's thoughts are voiced;

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X support two graphics modes - 4K at 60 FPS without ray tracing and 4K at 30 FPS with ray tracing. The lower version of the Xbox Series S will run at 1440p and 30 FPS without ray tracing;

the PS5 version is a standalone game, so if the user has already played Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation using backwards compatibility mode, then trophies and rewards will not be transferred to the native version;

achievements on the Xbox platform will automatically be transferred to the new version thanks to Smart Delivery technology;

for PS5 added support for event cards;

the native version for PS5 can now work in surround sound mode;

mproved rendering quality and improved performance.

The most important and interesting innovations in patch version 1.5:

made changes to the in-game economy - increased rewards for completing missions in the open world and reduced prices for vehicles and cyber implants;

cyberimplants themselves can now be sold to reapers;

fixed a bug due to which some modifications of cyberimplants refused to work simultaneously with others;

mproved the combat system and enemy AI;

V's companions are more accurate when firing;

also, companions no longer trip over bodies;

fixed a bug that carried V out of the level when trying to hide the body in a box;

summoned vehicles no longer appear on top of each other;

when loading the car now do not hang in the air. The press release pointed out ironically that "these are now normal boring machines, unable to soar in the sky and falling to the ground";

Night City added new Easter eggs that are not available on previous generation consoles due to technical features;

NPCs do not disappear after leaving the player's field of view;

NPCs also began to reactively to V's actions in the open world;

reworked some of the game interface elements.

Along with the update, a free add-on is available to users, which includes the following features:

V's appearance can be changed during the passage of the game, this can be done using a mirror in the apartment;

you can change the situation in the apartment, 6 configurations are available to choose from;

t became possible to rent or buy additional apartments in Night City;

Also, new activities have been added to V's home, some of them give the character temporary bonuses.

Until March 15, 2022, anyone can install a five-hour trial version of Cyberpunk 2077 on the current generation console. “‎When the available game time ends, you will have a choice: buy the game or delete these 5 hours from your life,” the developers note. After purchasing the full version, you can transfer the progress from the trial and continue playing the game. It's important to note that the trial is only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
