Chevrolet will cease production of the Chevrolet Spark subcompact hatchback, which is priced starting at $13,600 in the US. The model will be produced only until August this year.

After the cessation of Spark production, the most affordable model of the Chevrolet brand in the United States will be the Trax compact crossover, the price of which will start at 21.4 thousand rubles.

The reason for the termination of production of the Chevrolet Spark is low demand: last year, only 24.4 thousand people bought the model in the United States, while a year earlier, during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic, sales amounted to 33.5 thousand units.

In the US, the car is available with a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated engine with 99 hp. with 127 Nm of torque, which works with a 5-speed manual gearbox or with a CVT. The Spark is one of the few models in the US that does not come standard with power windows.

The car is also sold in Russia at a price of 920.9 thousand rubles. In the Russian market, Chevrolet Spark cars are offered with a 1.25-liter 85-horsepower engine, which is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

It is worth noting that the Russian Chevrolet Spark is produced at the UzAuto Motors enterprise in Uzbekistan, which so far does not plan to stop the production of the model.
