DJI Mavic 3 Gets Several New Scene Modes And More

An unexpected firmware update for the DJI Mavic 3 has added many new features to the flagship drone's functional list. In particular, we are talking about several new shooting modes such as FocusTrack, MasterShots and Timelapse, which are also found on more affordable DJI drones.

It also added a RAW Photo Only mode, reduced noise when shooting ProRes on the Mavic 3 Cine version, and reduced aircraft vibration “in some scenarios”. Other improvements include improvements to Return to Home (RTH) activation, obstacle avoidance, and hover stability. An issue that causes abnormal colors to appear in some situations has also been fixed along with several other issues.

DJI has pledged that it will continue to improve Intelligent Flight Modes such as MasterShots in future firmware updates. Another update will also be released in January 2022 to add other missing features such as QuickTransfer, QuickShots and Panorama Mode.

The update with version number v01.00.0400 came as a surprise as DJI had previously announced that it would not be out until January 22nd. Along with it was the v1.5.4 update for the DJI Fly app.
