Analysts predict new iPhone SE will poach 1.5 billion Android users

Analysts at JP Morgan expect Apple to launch a new-enabled iPhone SE smartphone in the next six months, which will retail for $ 399 and will help attract up to 1.5 billion new users who previously preferred the Android platform. Another 300 million users will switch to the iPhone SE from older Apple smartphones.

Analysts at JP Morgan said that, given the proprietary trade-in program, the cost of the iPhone SE for the end user will start at $ 269. This will grab the attention of users who have previously preferred entry-level and mid-range Android smartphones.

Apple's non-iPhone exchange program is admittedly not as attractive as the iPhone exchange cost, however, it could result in an average starting price of $ 269 for a 5G-enabled iPhone SE that will be very competitive.

In total, in fiscal 2022, the first quarter of which is already coming to an end, Apple will be able to sell up to 30 million copies of the iPhone SE. A total of 250 million iPhones will be sold, 10 million more than last fiscal year.

Wedbush estimates Apple will be able to sell just over 40 million smartphones by the end of this calendar year. According to this source, of the 975 million iPhones currently in use, about 250 million smartphones were released more than three and a half years ago. In the coming months, the owners will willingly exchange them for newer devices.
