Apple releases Android app for finding AirTags and other devices

Apple has released a new app for Android devices called Tracker Detect, which is already available on the Google Play store. It allows Android users to pinpoint the exact position of AirTag trackers.

According to the app description, Tracker Detect looks for trackers and other Locator Network compatible devices. That is, the application can work not only with AirTag; but also with a number of other products, including some models of wireless headphones and the Chipolo Bluetooth tracker.

Apple says Android users can also use the new app to determine if someone is using AirTag to track them. Today, with the release of stable iOS 15.2, this feature has become available to iPhone and iPad users.

According to previously published information, hijackers are using a new method to track and steal expensive cars. With the help of AirTags, thieves track the movement of the car to the victim's residence, from where they steal cars, usually under cover of night.
