Apple will abandon the hidden cameras

Apple engineers are no longer working on the under-screen camera and Touch ID for the iPhone 14, reports Gizchina.

The Cupertino-based company has been developing these technologies for several years, but decided to continue developing Face ID. Apple reportedly decided in January to shift all of its efforts and resources from Touch ID to the team working on Face ID.

Insiders note that this technology could have appeared in the iPhone 13 Pro, but Apple ultimately decided to push it back a couple of years, as the quality of under-screen cameras does not meet the company's standards.

Many owners of the company's smartphones have encountered the inconvenience of using the face unlock method due to the need to wear masks. The advent of Touch ID could solve this problem, however, in the beta version of iOS 15.4, Apple added Face ID unlock in masks.

It is reported that the long-awaited iPhone without a notch and any cutouts will appearlier than 2023. That smartphone could be the iPhone 15 Pro.

Previously, she said that the production of iPhone 14 smartphones was under threat due to a lack of screens.
