The world's fastest smartphone charger

There is exactly a week left before Mobile World Congress 2022: it will start on February 28. On this day, Realme will hold its press conference to announce its latest flagship smartphone Realme GT2 Pro for the international market. In addition, the brand revealed that it will also introduce new charging technology at this event.

In a press release sent to the media, Realme announced its plans to launch "the world's fastest smartphone charging technology." Unfortunately, the brand hasn't shared any details about this technology except that as part of its Go Premium strategy, it will be investing 70% of its R&D resources into innovation and charging technology. The company said the new technology will be faster than its current 125W charging technology.

Realme is rumored to introduce 150W fast smartphone charging technology. A well-known Digital Chat Station insider says that this technology is a new version of Oppo's 160W smartphone fast charging technology, but 10W slower. Even though this technology is slightly slower, it will use the same charger.

If so, it's unclear why Realme is calling its upcoming 150W smartphone charging technology "the world's fastest" when Xiaomi already introduced a 200W charging solution last year that can charge a 4,000mAh battery in 8 minutes. However, Xiaomi charging has not yet entered the market.
