“The number of detected violations remains alarming - in January alone, the Moscow traffic police identified and suppressed almost 2,300 facts of driving vehicles by drivers with signs of intoxication,” the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate wrote.

In 1150 cases, the fact of intoxication was confirmed among drivers, of which 141 motorists had narcotic intoxication. 1141 drivers refused to undergo a medical examination. 60 violators were prosecuted for repeated driving while intoxicated.

For driving while intoxicated, the violator faces a fine of 30 thousand rubles. and deprivation of the right to drive for up to two years. For a repeated violation, criminal liability is threatened up to imprisonment for up to two years, and if there is a conviction for such a violation, up to three years.
