Dangerous malware discovered on Google Play

A dangerous Android Xenomorph virus has been found on Google Play, according to the official blog of the cybersecurity company ThreatFabric.

The malware hides in the Fast Cleaner app. It has already managed to infect more than 50,000 devices.

Once on the victim's device, Xenomorph tries to get to important financial information, take control of the victim's accounts and carry out unauthorized transactions. The malware operators then sell all the collected information to interested parties.

In addition, Xenomorph can intercept notifications, block SMS messages, block windows of other applications, and collect user behavior data.

It is reported that the virus is still in development and its functionality may expand. Experts also noticed that the Xenomorph code is similar to the code of another banking Trojan, Alien. This may indicate that they have the same developer.

Previously, she talked about the fact that hundreds of millions of users of the popular messenger were at risk of being hacked.
