The White House announced a meeting of the National Security Council on aggravation in Ukraine

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that US President Joe Biden will convene the National Security Council on Sunday, February 20, to discuss the escalation in eastern Ukraine. It is reported by TASS.

“Biden continues to monitor the changing situation in Ukraine and his national security team regularly reports to him on developments,” Psaki said.

Aides to the American president believe that Russia could launch an invasion of Ukraine at any moment, she added.

Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, told the Munich Security Conference that Russia would face sanctions in the event of an attack on Ukraine that the Kremlin had never faced before.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a joint response from Berlin and Washington to a hypothetical Russian aggression against Ukraine.
