Siri gets a new voice in iOS 15.4 beta

In the beta version of iOS 15.4, Cupertino added a fifth voice for the American Siri. The voice acting received the uncomplicated name "Voice 5", and they tried to make the sound itself gender-neutral.

Journalists noted that Apple no longer offers a female Siri voice by default and allows users to choose on their own. Before that, iOS already had male and female voice acting, last year they added a voice recorded by black actors, and now there is gender-neutral voice acting.

The editor of The Verge published on his Twitter account a comparison of all available voiceovers in English, including the one added to the beta version of the operating system.

In addition to the new voice of the digital assistant, the iOS 15.4 beta found notifications that appear when the AirTag tracker is connected. Now the tag reports that the device is tied to AppleID and if the user decides to organize surveillance of another user using AirTag, then law enforcement officers can request data from Apple.

So far, there is no complete and accurate information about when the IT giant will release the next iOS update and what will be included in it. The company notes that the new version will definitely be released before the end of the year. Experts also believe that Apple intends to evade the answer and the OS will be presented in the spring, and before the end of the year, users will have several major releases at once.
