Twitter has suspended advertising in Russia and Ukraine

Twitter has decided to suspend ads for users in Russia and Ukraine in order not to distract them from important information related to public safety. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the company's statement.

"For people using Twitter in Ukraine and Russia, we've also suspended some recommended tweets from people you don't follow on Home to reduce the spread of offensive content," Twitter said.

The platform also promised to identify and stop attempts to spread “false and misleading information.”

“We actively review tweets for platform manipulation (or other misleading behavior) and take enforcement action against synthetic and manipulated media that present a false or misleading description of what is happening,” the company said.

Earlier, Roskomnadzor began to slow down the traffic of the social network Facebook in Russia for failure to comply with the requirements to unblock the accounts of four Russian media outlets.

Prior to this, the Anonymous hacker group declared a "cyber war" on Russia in connection with the events in Ukraine. According to the group, the National Coordination Center for Computer Incidents of the FSB of Russia allegedly declared a critical level of threat of cyber attacks on various information structures.
