Beeline launched a local server G-Core Labs in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Now our subscribers will be able to download a wide variety of content quickly and without delays: applications, distributions, updates of their favorite games, etc.

The share of G-Core Labs in Sakhalin's broadband access network has reached and is stable at the level of 10%, the national average is 3.5%.

The servers were set up for several months - in this project, colleagues from G-Core Labs worked remotely, and our specialists became a kind of "hands" for them: they installed the server on site and formed the entire infrastructure.

The new local server can insure and supplement the work of G-Core Labs servers on the mainland - about once a week the server distributes traffic to subscribers of Khabarovsk and other cities, while not creating additional load on the backbone channels, because the traffic goes counter-current to the main one. Such support is especially relevant at the time of massive updates of popular games or programs - at this time, the maximum distribution of traffic from all clusters is observed at the peak of their bandwidth.

Traffic from the G-Core Labs server ranked second in terms of the amount of downloaded information on the Beeline home Internet network in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Here's how the top 3 ranked:

Traffic from Facebook (here traffic from Instagram, Whatsapp and Facebook itself)

Traffic from the local server of G-Core Labs (distributions and updates of various programs, applications, updates of World of Tanks and other Wargaming games)

Google traffic, primarily Youtube

Installing a local server allows subscribers to download all the necessary downloadable information to their phones and PCs almost instantly, rather than waiting for it to cover all distances. High speed is the key to excellent work of online applications, as well as quick download of distributions. Modern programs and games can take hundreds of gigabytes, but their long download is already bad manners, which a modern high-tech company cannot afford.

Today, not all content owner companies and not all CDN organizations are able to establish work on Sakhalin even if the necessary conditions are provided by the telecom operator (site for placement, connection to the network). The fact is that there are not many people living on Sakhalin, and, accordingly, the average total traffic volume is relatively small.

Beeline's own extensive backbone network and experience allow us to provide direct inclusion of content in the Beeline network, to reduce the distance between our users and game servers. In turn, the more servers with content in the network, the more download sources for our subscribers, and the more stable the work with the network.
