LibreTube developers reported that GitHub froze their account without explanation

The developers of LibreTube announced in their microblog on Twitter about the freezing of the account on GitHub without explanation. The source code of the project has not been removed from the service at the moment. Users can download LibreTube, but developers have lost the ability to update data and answer questions.

LibreTube is a YouTube video client for Android built with Piped. It allows you to watch videos without ads and tracking from Google. The authors of the project associate the freezing of the account with pressure on such projects. LibreTube began to gain popularity, and immediately after that, the account was frozen.

On March 13, the developers of YouTube Vanced announced the termination of the development of the project. Like LibreTube, the client allows you to bypass Google ads and tracking systems. The authors received a “cease and desist” indication from Google. "We've been asked to remove all links to YouTube, change the logo, and remove all links related to YouTube products," the Vanced team admin told Discord.

Already installed clients of YouTube Vanced will continue to work, according to the calculations of the developers - for about two more years. As an alternative, the authors recommended a YouTube Premium subscription.
