Vivo announces its first foldable smartphone and flagship tablet model

The Chinese company Vivo presented the announcement of its first folding smartphone X Fold. The device is based on the Qualcomm processor. Together with him, they showed the Vivo Pad tablet. Analysts claim that the tablet will support work with a proprietary stylus. Both devices will be officially presented at the presentation on April 11, 2022.

Vivo X Fold received an eight-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and 12 GB of RAM. The choice will be available models with 256 and 512 GB of internal memory for data storage. The smartphone is equipped with a 4600 mAh battery. The system supports fast 80-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless.

The smartphone has two displays. 2220 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+) OLED outer screen and 2560 x 1440 pixels (2K+) 7-inch foldable inner screen. Both displays received a 120Hz refresh rate and under-screen fingerprint scanners. It is noted that the hinge mechanism provides folding without gaps.

On the back of the device is a quad-camera module created in collaboration with Zeiss. The module combines a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel 2x zoom camera, and an 8-megapixel periscope camera. The cover of the device is trimmed with eco-leather. In the teaser, the company showed the smartphone in blue, but orange and crimson will also be on sale.

The company also announced the Vivo Pad tablet on the Snapdragon 870 processor. It is expected that the device will receive 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of flash memory. Power will be provided by a 7860 mAh battery. From the announcement it follows that a system of two cameras will be located on the back cover, and insiders report that the tablet will work with a proprietary stylus.

Both gadgets will run Android and OriginOS Ocean proprietary shell. The official presentation is scheduled for April 11, 2022.
