The Russian TV channel Tsargrad reported that enough money had been arrested on the accounts of the American company Google to resolve the dispute with the media. In the summer of 2020, Youtube blocked the Tsargrad channel without the possibility of recovery for violating export laws. The amount of the penalty that Google must pay has reached 1 billion rubles.
An American company today lost a cassation in the Arbitration Court of the Moscow District in the case of unblocking the Tsargrad channel. The court upheld the decisions of the previous instances, recognizing the shutdown of the channel as illegal.
The arbitration also recognized the legal payment of a penalty, which increases by 100 thousand rubles. every week after a court decision.
"Tsargrad" reports that according to the situation in mid-March, the amount of the fine reached 1 billion rubles. The media representative notes that if Google does not restore the youtube channel, then from the fall of this year, the fine will continue to increase without restrictions. The channel's message stated that the channel "will continue to harass them (Google) around the world, blocking and confiscating their money."
Google refused to comment on the court decision and the message of Tsargrad, Forbes notes.
The TV channel sued three Google entities after blocking its Youtube channel. Last summer, it became known that the American company offered Tsargrad to conclude a settlement agreement, in connection with this, the Arbitration Court postponed the meeting on Google's appeal to August.
In August, the IT company asked the TV channel to drop the lawsuit. However, "Tsargrad" refused to go to the world. In December, Google lost to the TV channel in the Ninth Arbitration Court of Appeal.
At the end of last year, Google began the process of partially unblocking the Tsargrad channel. However, representatives of the TV channel said that this was not enough and demanded that the court's decision be fully implemented. Previously, the IT company did not restore deleted channels.
A few days later, Google's lawyers filed an appeal in which they declared their disagreement with the decision on the progressive penalty. The company insists on stopping the process of calculating the fine. However, the court refused Google.
