Nvidia is releasing a major update for all Shield devices that fixes a lot of issues users have reported since updating to Android 11.

Shield TV Pro owners are offered to install the Shield Experience Upgrade 9.0.2. The following are major fixes and improvements:

Added Plex support for the latest Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD DVB-T tuner (EU only);

Adds useful notifications when connecting or formatting removable media;

[Shield 2019 Only] Fixed an issue that could not be changed; AI scaling in the Netflix app;

We fixed a bug that caused other video apps to use the refresh rate set in Kodi.

Resolves an issue with Dolby Vision content playback when connected to Phillips TVs.

Added developer option "Default Rec. 709 for HD Video" to improve the color of the video (turning it on may cause crashes in applications such as Apple TV + or Paramount +);

[Shield 2019 only] Fixes audio stuttering issue with Bluetooth or USB headsets when Dolby audio processing is enabled.

Fixed an issue that caused the surround upmixer to stop working after playing Dolby audio streams.

Fixed audio issues when connecting a headset to the Shield 2015 controller.

Improved file transfer speed;

Fixed error when copying files over LAN from Mac to removable storage on Shield;

Fixed a bug due to which the transfer of data from internal storage hangs indefinitely;

Resolves an issue where files copied over the local network are not visible until the Shield is restarted.

We fixed an issue that prevented the Dolphin emulator from writing to the NAS.

We fixed an issue that caused the SD card notification to appear when launching apps.

We fixed an issue that prevented the Documents UI from accessing external storage folders.

The update should also fix the pairing issue with DualShock 3, Xbox One S, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch Pro controllers. In addition, the update should also resolve the issue that Bluetooth headsets would not turn off in sleep mode after enabling this feature.
