No more unwanted calls and SMS: a unified spam blocking system in Russia has been launched by all the “big four” operators

In early June, a unified service was launched in Russia to combat unwanted spam calls and messages, which does not require the installation of additional software on a smartphone. Initially, the service was launched by the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) and telecom operators MTS, Tele2 and MegaFon.

Now the operator "Beeline" (VimpelCom) has joined the service. This was reported by the press service of the FAS. Thus, Beeline subscribers will also be able to send complaints to their operator and on the FAS Russia website. The agency also recalled that other telecom operators in Russia could also join the system.

As conceived by the developers, using a special form, the subscriber can leave a complaint about incoming voice or SMS advertising and receive a response from his operator. Unwanted ad blocking is expected to occur within 72 hours.
