Russia - Roskosmos tested augmented reality glasses for cosmonauts

Russia - The Cosmonaut Training Center began testing an augmented reality system that could be used in outer space in the future. It includes special glasses and an artificial intelligence system that recognizes details, displays information about her and other data.

Within the framework of a project with a complex name "Intelligent technology for controlling manual operations on a video image." Testing has already been carried out, cosmonaut Ivan Vagner took part in it. With the help of augmented reality glasses, he successfully assembled the Bubble Dosimeter device.

During assembly, the glasses themselves displayed textual, graphical hints and recognition for objects. The data was duplicated on a demo monitor. The cosmonaut was able to successfully assemble the device by performing the required sequence of actions.

It is not yet reported when a ready-made solution of this class for astronauts will appear. But similar systems are already being used in manufacturing, assembly lines, and elsewhere.
