Binance statement: Russian citizens and its residents will not be able to trade on the P2P crypto exchange from January 31

Crypto exchange Binance announced that platform users with citizenship and residence of the Russian Federation will not be able to trade on Binance P2P from 3 a.m. (Moscow time) on January 31, 2024.

From this moment on, transactions with the Russian ruble will no longer be supported on the platform. Binance indicates that users will be able to enjoy P2P trading on the CommEX platform without any fees.

Crypto exchange users can withdraw Russian rubles through Binance's fiat partners until January 31, convert them into cryptocurrency using the Conversion tool, or exchange money for cryptocurrency on the Binance spot market.

This decision was made in connection with the exchange’s departure from Russia through the sale of CommEX. However, Russian citizens who live in other countries and have documented this will be able to continue trading on Binance P2P.

Binance announced the sale of its Russian business to CommEX at the end of September last year. The cryptocurrency exchange's director of regulatory compliance, Noah Perlman, said that the operation of the site in Russia is incompatible with Binance's strategy.
