More than 50 Apple Store employees quit on Christmas Eve and urge shoppers to boycott

A group of Apple retail employees have resigned over the company's COVID-19 policy. Representatives of the Apple Together movement stated that the corporation cannot provide security from the virus and protection from aggressive customers, and it also does not pay extra for working in hazardous conditions. Last week, in addition to store employees, workers from AppleCare support and corporate offices went on strike. They urge buyers to refrain from purchasing Apple products.

Employee boycott requirements include paid sick leave and respect in the workplace. Sellers say that stores are forced to serve customers even when they display inappropriate behavior.

On December 24, Apple Together members went on strike over the company's policy on complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination, sexism, and other abuses. Earlier this year, Apple fired two employees who accused the company of ignoring harassment issues. In mid-December, the US Department of Labor announced that it would check the statements of ex-employees.

Apple Together has created a Discord channel to discuss issues within the company. Their website states that Apple declares equality, diversity and a friendly work environment, but still does not comply with this. The organization was founded in August of this year on the basis of the #AppleToo movement.

In the middle of the month, Bloomberg announced that Apple would indefinitely postpone the return of employees to offices due to the threat of the spread of the omicron strain of covid. The company will also provide workers with $ 1,000 each for the arrangement of the workplace. Previously, the corporation planned to withdraw employees from the remote location in February 2022.
