GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be the first mobile 3D card with 16 GHz GDDR6 memory

The source has published details about the mobile version of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which is expected to premiere in early January at CES 2022. The mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is reportedly the world's first 3D accelerator with 16 GHz GDDR6 memory. For comparison, the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 uses 14 GHz GDDR6 memory.

However, along with the increase in frequency, the TGP value will also increase - by 10 W (up to 175 W). Despite the fact that the increase seems insignificant, not all laptop models equipped with the GeForce RTX 3080 will be able to provide adequate cooling for such a GPU. The fact is that many models with GeForce RTX 3080 use GPU versions with a power limit of up to 150 watts. Rare models are rated at a full 165 watts of power, and in the case of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, it will be another 10 watts higher. Presumably, the mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is based on the GPU GA103S with 7424 CUDA cores.

Also in early January, Nvidia is slated to unveil a mobile GeForce RTX 3070 Ti based on the GA104 GPU. She will receive 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with a frequency of 14 GHz, and the TGP value for this model is not expected to exceed the 150 W mark.
