Analysts at Yandex.Weather decided to find out which cities in Russia are more likely to be lucky with the New Year's weather. To do this, they studied the data of meteorological observations in the largest cities of the country over the past 10 years and compared them with the results of a survey of Russians about what kind of weather they consider ideal for the New Year. Also, analysts of the service told which Russian megacities will be able to see exemplary weather on the first night of 2022.

To find out what kind of weather Russians themselves consider most comfortable for themselves on the night of January 1, analysts interviewed more than 1000 residents of Russia using the Yandex.Vzglyad service. The ideal New Year's weather, according to the Russians, was as follows: temperature from 0 to -10 ° C, calm, moderate snowfall.

Most often, this kind of weather on New Year's Eve was observed in Samara: as many as five times over the past 10 years. In Kazan, this happened four times, in Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod - three times. Twice an exemplary New Year's Eve was seen in Krasnoyarsk, Omsk and Rostov-on-Don. Only once - in Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Chelyabinsk.

Residents of Moscow, Volgograd, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg and Perm have not been able to meet New Year's Eve in ideal weather over the past decade.
