Despite many rumors, until Nintendo released the Switch Pro console and, with their statements, tried to disown such a product altogether.

Industry analyst Piers Harding-Rolls expressed the opinion that Nintendo will not release a similar console this year, and in general expressed doubts about the appearance of the Switch Pro.

I currently expect the year-over-year console market figures to remain largely flat in 2022 as Switch sales decline. However, the Nintendo Switch family of devices will once again become the top-selling console in 2022 with approximately 21 million sold to consumers, helped by the launch of the Switch OLED. I'm not looking forward to Switch Pro in 2022.

Our projections for the end of 2024 have a next-gen Nintendo console, so I'm not sure if there is a Pro model at all.

As such, the new Nintendo console will certainly come out, but what it will be called and when it will hit the market remains to be seen. At least the forecast above means that Switch will have to compete with much more productive consoles for up to two years, even if this competition is conditional.
